Manager – Workiva (Financial Reporting) Implementation & Consulting – Remote
$140-160,000 BASE
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Manager-level Workiva specialist focused on the Financial Reporting module to lead design and implementation of Workiva for statutory and management reporting (e.g., annual/quarterly reports, board packs, financial statement production).
This is a remote, client-facing implementation and consulting role. You will own end‑to‑end delivery of Workiva financial reporting solutions, from discovery and design through configuration, testing, and post‑go‑live support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the Workiva Financial Reporting module, including solution design, build, testing, and deployment.
- Run discovery and design workshops with Finance, Accounting, and Reporting teams to capture requirements and define future‑state processes.
- Configure Workiva workspaces, data connections, documents, templates, linking, and workflows to support:
- Period-end close and financial statement preparation
- Statutory and management reporting
- Board and executive reporting packs
- Narrative reporting and commentary
- Design and implement data connectivity between Workiva and source systems (e.g., ERP, consolidation tools, data warehouses).
- Define and document reporting processes, controls, governance, and operating procedures for ongoing Workiva usage.
- Support data model and mapping design to ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability from source systems to final reports.
- Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications; provide regular status updates to client sponsors.
- Train end users and super‑users; develop user guides, job aids, and best-practice documentation.
- Advise on financial reporting process optimization and automation opportunities enabled by Workiva.
- Contribute to internal methodologies, accelerators, and templates for Workiva Financial Reporting implementations; mentor junior team members.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in consulting, systems implementation, or finance transformation roles, with significant client-facing experience.
- Hands-on experience implementing or administering Workiva for Financial Reporting (or closely related Workiva reporting solutions).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, including period-end close, consolidation, and preparation of financial statements and supporting disclosures.
- Experience designing or improving reporting processes in mid‑to‑large organizations (e.g., group reporting, multi-entity or multi-currency environments).
- Demonstrated project management skills, including coordinating cross-functional teams and managing delivery in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills; able to translate business requirements into practical, scalable Workiva solutions.
- Comfortable working independently, managing multiple workstreams, and engaging with senior Finance and Accounting leaders.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a Big 4 or similar consulting / advisory environment, or in a Finance transformation / reporting change role.
- Professional accounting qualification or background (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Exposure to ERP and consolidation systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, OneStream, HFM, Tagetik) and their integration with reporting tools.
- Experience with controls and compliance related to financial reporting (e.g., SOX, internal controls frameworks).
- Experience working with listed or heavily regulated entities.
