About the Role

Our client is seeking a Manager-level Workiva specialist focused on the Financial Reporting module to lead design and implementation of Workiva for statutory and management reporting (e.g., annual/quarterly reports, board packs, financial statement production).

This is a remote, client-facing implementation and consulting role. You will own end‑to‑end delivery of Workiva financial reporting solutions, from discovery and design through configuration, testing, and post‑go‑live support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of the Workiva Financial Reporting module, including solution design, build, testing, and deployment.
  • Run discovery and design workshops with Finance, Accounting, and Reporting teams to capture requirements and define future‑state processes.
  • Configure Workiva workspaces, data connections, documents, templates, linking, and workflows to support:
  • Period-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Statutory and management reporting
  • Board and executive reporting packs
  • Narrative reporting and commentary
  • Design and implement data connectivity between Workiva and source systems (e.g., ERP, consolidation tools, data warehouses).
  • Define and document reporting processes, controls, governance, and operating procedures for ongoing Workiva usage.
  • Support data model and mapping design to ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability from source systems to final reports.
  • Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications; provide regular status updates to client sponsors.
  • Train end users and super‑users; develop user guides, job aids, and best-practice documentation.
  • Advise on financial reporting process optimization and automation opportunities enabled by Workiva.
  • Contribute to internal methodologies, accelerators, and templates for Workiva Financial Reporting implementations; mentor junior team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in consulting, systems implementation, or finance transformation roles, with significant client-facing experience.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or administering Workiva for Financial Reporting (or closely related Workiva reporting solutions).
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, including period-end close, consolidation, and preparation of financial statements and supporting disclosures.
  • Experience designing or improving reporting processes in mid‑to‑large organizations (e.g., group reporting, multi-entity or multi-currency environments).
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including coordinating cross-functional teams and managing delivery in a remote setting.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; able to translate business requirements into practical, scalable Workiva solutions.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing multiple workstreams, and engaging with senior Finance and Accounting leaders.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in a Big 4 or similar consulting / advisory environment, or in a Finance transformation / reporting change role.
  • Professional accounting qualification or background (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to ERP and consolidation systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, OneStream, HFM, Tagetik) and their integration with reporting tools.
  • Experience with controls and compliance related to financial reporting (e.g., SOX, internal controls frameworks).
  • Experience working with listed or heavily regulated entities.
