Finance Manager – Irvine – up to $135,000 + 25% bonus
Our client, a Real Estate firm, is hiring for a Finance Manager. This role is critical in overseeing the financial operations of the business, ensuring financial stability, and supporting key decision-making through accurate reporting and strategic insights. The Finance Manager will work closely with senior management to drive financial performance, maintain cash flow, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and financial best practices. You will also help administer the EPM tool Adaptive Planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial forecasting models, budgets, and projections for multiple construction projects and overall business operations.
- Provide regular financial analysis and performance reports to senior leadership, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they accurately reflect the financial health of the company.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Manage and administer Adaptive Planning EPM tool
- Build new reports within Adaptive
Cash Flow Management:
- Oversee cash flow management, ensuring that sufficient funds are available to meet operational needs, including project costs, vendor payments, payroll, and other business expenses.
- Work with project managers and procurement teams to track costs, invoicing, and payment schedules.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget, working closely with project managers to track expenditures and identify areas where cost-saving measures can be implemented.
- Review and approve project-related invoices and expenses to ensure they align with budgeted estimates.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Coordinate with external auditors and prepare for annual audits.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of financial transactions in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on strategic initiatives such as new project financing, investment opportunities, and long-term financial goals.
- Evaluate the financial viability of new homebuilding projects and assess profitability margins, return on investment (ROI), and cash flow impact.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance
- Prior experience with Adaptive Planning
- Proven experience in the construction or homebuilding industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with project-based accounting or construction-specific financial management systems.
- Knowledge of job cost accounting, contracts, and subcontractor management.
- Familiarity with tax compliance and real estate financing.
