Position Overview

The Principal ERP Consultant role leads consultants, senior consultants, and other project team members in managing clients through the entire project life-cycle—from the initial assessment of their needs through designing the solution that solves the client’s business challenges, developing the solution, and implementing the solution. This individual is expected to meet with client executive team members to road-map NetSuite and business process improvements and suggest/assess tools and NetSuite functions to meet these goals. The Principal Consultant provides a unique combination of functional and technical product expertise and is expected to leverage best practices along with their deep NetSuite and industry knowledge to solve unique and complex business requirements.

Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree preferred

 5+ years NetSuite work experience

 5+ years of consulting or equivalent experience

 Understanding of core NetSuite features, preferences, and ERP processing

 Experience administrating or configuring NetSuite on multiple implementations or projects

 Highly experienced in at least one key vertical market or NetSuite feature

 Be able to execute all phases of a NetSuite implementation except for Development:

  • Requirements analysis
  • Gap analysis
  • Configuration

 Drive Configuration decisions when necessary.

  • Cutover procedures
  • Data migration strategy and actual execution for Master Records, GL History and Open Transactions

 Highly proficient in NetSuite BI tools, including Dashboard creation and publishing, Saved Searches, and Reports, Financial Reports, and Suite Analytics

 Understanding of SOAP vs REST integrations

 Support customizations to NetSuite; including the configuration of workflows and supporting the development team with the implementation of SuiteScript.

 Possess the NetSuite foundations certification and either have, or work to attain, the NetSuite Administrator and ERP Consultant certifications.

 General understanding of common business-specific NetSuite add-on features and products such as ARM, Fixed Assets, Commissions, Multi-Book, RFSmart, Concur, DocuSign, and others.

 Understanding of basic accounting principles.

  • Financial statements o Account types per statement

  • Proficient in NetSuite’s Advanced Financial functionality

 Ability to travel up to 5% of the time for on-site client visits

Responsibilities

Be the primary consultant on a NetSuite consulting team

o Primary tactical/daily contact for the client

o Internal Team Lead

  • Be the primary consultant for a named set of optimization and support clients
  • Periodically lead internal Lunch and Learn sessions and write blogs
  • Design solutions to complex business requirements and processes
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and serve as a primary point of contact
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams
  • Participate in project planning and supporting tasks to manage expectations, maintain timeline and meet goals for project deliverables
  • Create and maintain project plans
  • Participate in business development activities
  • Demonstrate ownership of advanced areas of NetSuite
  • Mentor junior consultants
  • Contribute to internal initiatives
  • Perform across all phases of project, including project management, business analysis, architecture, configuration, testing, training, deployment, documentation and gap alignment
  • Assist in sales process, client calls and demos
  • Prepare estimates and Statements of Work
