Pre Sales Consultant (m/f/d)
An international software and analytics company is looking to strengthen its Solution Advisory / Pre-Sales team in the DACH region. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Controlling, and modern EPM technology, working closely with Sales to support mid-sized and enterprise customers.
As a Pre Sales Consultant, you will act as a trusted advisor for prospective and existing customers. You will understand business and finance challenges, translate them into technical solutions, and demonstrate how a modern EPM platform can deliver real value.
You will be involved from the first customer conversation through to deal closure, working closely with Sales, Consulting, and internal product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand finance and controlling use cases and map them to an EPM platform
- Present software solutions to customers (online, onsite, events, webinars) — from Controller to CFO level
- Design and deliver software demos and proof-of-concepts (no coding required)
- Support Sales throughout the entire pre-sales process with technical expertise
- Scope projects and support initial effort estimations
- Lead and facilitate customer workshops
- Support RFI/RFP/RFQ responses (including AI-assisted processes)
- Balance multiple customers and projects with a high degree of autonomy
Your Background
- Experience in Controlling, Corporate Finance, or FP&A, or
- 2–5 years’ experience in Pre-Sales / Sales Engineering / Solution Consulting
- Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders, including CFOs
- Strong Excel skills and solid business understanding
- Experience with EPM / planning tools such as Jedox, TM1, Board, Anaplan, SAC, Essbase, Infor, etc.
- Structured, detail-oriented, and communicative
- Fluent German and English
- Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 20%)
