Oracle EPM Planning Architect

Salary: $180,000 – $210,000 (+ bonus)

Location: Remote (US, must be open to travel)

My client is a leading Oracle SI / Implementation Partner who is seeking an experienced consultant to take the lead in driving Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Planning projects. This role demands deep expertise in financial planning processes, strong technical skills, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to deliver effective, scalable solutions that align with business goals.

Job responsibilities:

• Design and architect Oracle EPM Planning and Essbase solutions that align with business needs and financial/operational planning processes.
• Lead the implementation of EPM Planning and Essbase solutions, covering installation, configuration, customization, and integration with other systems.
• Develop and manage Essbase cubes, calculation scripts, business rules, and databases to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to collect requirements, define solution architecture, and offer technical guidance throughout the project.
• Optimize the performance and scalability of EPM Planning and Essbase applications through performance tuning, capacity management, and infrastructure improvements.
• Provide ongoing support for EPM Planning and Essbase applications, handling issue resolution, system updates, and user training.
• Keep up to date with Oracle EPM Planning and Essbase product updates, patches, and best practices, and suggest continuous improvements.
• Participate in presales activities to develop solutions and presentations, demonstrating offerings to potential clients.
• Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise on Planning and Essbase technologies.

Job requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Over 7 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Oracle EPM Planning and Essbase solutions.
• Expertise in Oracle Hyperion EPM Suite (On-Premise and Cloud), including EPM Planning, Essbase, Calculation Manager, Groovy scripting, Smart View, and Narrative/Management Reporting. Knowledge of Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management (EPCM) and/or Enterprise Data Management (EDM) is a plus.
• Experience with process reengineering and designing performance management applications for budgeting, forecasting, planning, consolidation, and reporting, with a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data integration techniques.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to guide clients in their strategic EPM and systems direction.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for transforming business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel as necessary for project and client needs.
