Lead HFM Administrator

  • Base Salary: $100,000 – $135,000 USD

This position owns the administration, stability, and evolution of enterprise financial consolidation and data integration platforms. The role is heavily focused on Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE), supporting statutory and management reporting, close processes, and upstream/downstream data flows.

The administrator acts as both a technical expert and a business-facing partner, ensuring financial data is accurate, auditable, and delivered on time. The role also provides leadership to other system administrators and plays a key role in improving close and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

HFM Administration & Financial Close Support

  • Serve as the primary administrator for HFM environments supporting financial consolidation and reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance application structures including entity hierarchies, accounts, intercompany, custom dimensions, and metadata relationships.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize business rules, calculations, and consolidation logic.
  • Manage security provisioning and access controls aligned with governance and audit requirements.
  • Support close cycles by monitoring loads, resolving errors, and assisting finance users during critical periods.

FDMEE & Data Integration Management

  • Own the configuration and maintenance of FDMEE, including locations, data load rules, mappings, scripts, and validations.
  • Design and support integrations from source systems into HFM and related targets.
  • Troubleshoot data load failures, mapping issues, and transformation logic.
  • Partner with source-system owners to resolve upstream data issues and improve data quality.

Data Quality, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of financial data across consolidation and reporting platforms.
  • Support reconciliations between source systems, FDMEE, and HFM.
  • Work closely with audit, accounting, and controls teams to support internal controls and external audit requirements.

Leadership & Partnership

  • Provide direction, oversight, and mentoring to other HFM/FDMEE administrators.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between finance teams and IT for consolidation and close-related systems.
  • Translate accounting and reporting requirements into system configurations and technical solutions.
  • Facilitate working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues and plan enhancements.

Enhancements & Projects

  • Identify opportunities to streamline close and reporting processes through system improvements or automation.
  • Lead or contribute to projects involving application upgrades, architecture changes, and new integrations.
  • Track support and service trends to proactively address recurring issues.

User Support & Enablement

  • Provide expert-level support during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including limited off-hours availability.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, process guides, and user instructions.
  • Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions for finance and system users.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in shared support coverage for other financial systems as part of a team rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE).
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
  • HFM metadata, dimensions, rules, and security
  • FDMEE locations, mappings, load rules, scripts, and integrations
  • Financial close and consolidation processes
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Smart View and Hyperion reporting tools.
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex financial system environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance and IT teams.
  • Experience leading system enhancements, upgrades, or implementation efforts.
