Group Accountant (m/f/d) – First Step from Audit into Industry

Location: Karlsruhe | Hybrid working

An international, well-funded energy company in a strong growth phase is currently strengthening its finance function and is looking to hire a Group Accountant to join its expanding group accounting team.

The business is moving from scale-up to industrialisation and is investing heavily in professionalising its finance and accounting structures. Following the recent hire of a Head of Group Accounting, the team is now growing further and looking for a high-quality profile from practice.

This opportunity is particularly well-suited to auditors looking to make their first move into industry.

The Role:

As Group Accountant, you will be part of a small, hands-on team (3 FTE) and gain broad exposure across group accounting topics, including:

  • Preparation of group monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Application of IFRS and HGB standards across the group
  • Group consolidation and intercompany reconciliations
  • Close collaboration with external auditors
  • Supporting the professionalisation of accounting processes and controls
  • Involvement in the ERP transition from DATEV to SAP
  • Working closely with senior finance stakeholders in an international environment

Your Profile:

  • 3–5 years of experience in audit / assurance / accounting
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, HGB and group consolidation
  • Background in practice, ideally with exposure to medium-sized companies
  • Looking for your first step into industry after audit
  • Fluent English is essential; German B1/B2 is a strong advantage
  • Comfortable working in an international environment
  • Proactive, curious and accountable – someone who takes ownership and wants to understand the business

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to SAP or experience with ERP implementations
  • Interest in energy, sustainability or industrial projects

What’s On Offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible hybrid working model (on-site presence in Karlsruhe expected; not 100% remote)
  • High visibility role in a fast-growing, well-funded organisation
  • Excellent learning curve and long-term development opportunities
  • Direct exposure to senior finance leadership
