Business Controller – Madrid – Hybrid

I’m currently partnering with a global manufacturing organisation to recruit a Business Controller for their finance team based in Madrid.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an international business with operations across multiple continents, working within a collaborative Group Finance function where you’ll play a key role in financial planning, reporting and business performance.

Working closely with senior finance leaders, you’ll help deliver high-quality financial insight that supports strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities.
• Perform variance analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Monitor business performance and provide meaningful financial insights to stakeholders.
• Support CAPEX reporting and investment analysis.
• Assist with financial consolidation and reporting processes.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, reporting and controls.
• Support audit activities and ensure compliance with internal policies.

What we’re looking for

• 3–7 years’ experience in Business Controlling, FP&A, Finance Business Partnering or Management Reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within an international or multinational organisation.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Experience with finance systems such as OneStream, SAP, Oracle, SAP BFC or similar EPM/ERP platforms would be highly advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI or other reporting tools is beneficial.
• Fluent English is essential. Spanish is highly desirable, with French considered an advantage.
