This client is a leading global insurance company. You would be positioned out of their New York office, coming in 1-2 days per week!
They are seeking a candidate to join their Corporate FP&A team, reporting to the VP of Financial Planning. The position will support the preparation of planning, reforecasting, and performance analysis. This role will collaborate with various global and functional teams to provide insightful analysis to business leaders. The role represents a great opportunity to help shape the future of FP&A at the company utilizing the Vena Solutions software.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and coordinate annual plan and quarterly reforecasts for underwriting and Group consolidation
- Analyze quarterly results including commentary on key drivers of variances from plan
- Maintain our planning system, Vena, including building reports, updating dimensions and data feeds
- Assist in designing and compiling quarterly presentations and report packs for senior leadership
- Collaborate with global teams across finance, underwriting, actuarial and functional leaders on budget preparation and performance analysis
- Track incentive compensation metrics against targets and perform scenario analysis
- Identify and assist with redesign and/or simplification of various processes within the team
- Provide support on special projects and ad hoc reporting as required by the department or other business departments

- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
- 2-5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably with a P&C (re)insurance organization
- Motivated candidates without industry experience will be considered.
- Fluent in English
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Must have excellent computational skills and analytical ability; consistent with skills of college/graduate college experience. Examples include variance analysis, rate changes, and time value of money.
- Strong skills in this area are necessary to analyze and identify cause for unusual activity in account balances.
- Strong MS Excel skills with the ability to use complex formulas to manipulate large volume of data.
- Proficient with MS PowerPoint
- Experience with performance management software (Vena strongly preferred) and dashboard (ex. Tableau, PowerBI) a plus
- Database and other data manipulation skills a plus
- CPA a plus
