Senior Director, Workday – New York – up to $400k

We are partnering with a leading investment bank based in New York City, renowned for its innovative financial solutions and commitment to excellence in the industry. As part of their continued growth and digital transformation initiatives, we are seeking an experienced Executive Director to join their dynamic team, focusing on Workday Financials. This is a hybrid position based our of their offices in Manhattan.

Position Overview: As an Executive Director of Workday Financials, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the Workday Financials platform, ensuring its seamless integration within the organization’s financial operations. Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will lead a team of analysts, provide strategic direction, and be hands-on with troubleshooting to ensure the platform’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the maintenance and optimization of the Workday Financials platform.
  • Lead a team of analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in executing day-to-day tasks and long-term projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, IT, and other departments to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
  • Develop and maintain Workday Financials policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and troubleshooting, addressing technical issues and driving resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and updates related to Workday Financials, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on the performance and utilization of the Workday Financials platform.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., MBA, CPA, Workday certification) is a plus.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in financial systems management, with a focus on Workday Financials implementation, configuration, and support.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop talent.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and workflows, coupled with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and process improvements within the organization.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions and exceeding expectations.
