Workday Configuration Specialist – Talent

Full-time | Hybrid NY, PA, NJ or REMOTE

$90,000-130,000

Position Overview

My client is seeking a Workday Configuration Specialist to enhance Workday Talent Management modules, including skills and strategy, job and career frameworks, Career Hub, Gigs/Flex teams, mentoring, career pathing, and integration with other HR modules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary contact for HR service delivery.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of HR products and services.
  • Design and build Workday solutions in Talent and Core HCM.
  • Conduct impact analysis, outline outcomes, and secure stakeholder alignment.
  • Foster internal relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage and support events and strategic projects related to Workday modules.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Implement project management processes for various work streams.
  • Gather requirements and lead configuration design sessions.
  • Develop product configurations and perform unit testing.
  • Create and manage testing strategies in collaboration with QA and UAT teams.
  • Partner with User Enablement/HR Communications to update training tools.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years supporting enterprise HR applications.
  • 3+ years of expert-level experience with Workday Core HCM and Talent Management, including skills and strategy, job and career frameworks, Career Hub, Gigs/Flex teams, mentoring, career pathing, and module interconnections (e.g., Recruiting, Learning, Compensation).
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Workday Talent Management configurations and integrations.
  • Proficiency in Workday Report Writer is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of Workday data and Talent process flows.
  • Expert-level proficiency with MS Excel.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-functional technical projects.
  • Solid understanding of HR service delivery concepts.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
