Financial Systems Analyst (IBM Planning Analytics / TM1)

About the Role

Codex are working with a leading Financial Services Firm who are seeking a Financial Systems Analyst with technical experience in IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) to join the Financial Systems team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining, enhancing and developing a business-critical planning and reporting platform used across the firm.

You’ll work closely with Finance, IT and business stakeholders to deliver innovative TM1 solutions, support strategic change initiatives and ensure the platform continues to meet evolving business needs. This role offers exposure to a wide range of finance processes, system enhancements and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with problem solving and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and enhancement of IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Maintain and develop TM1 models, including rules, dimensions, cubes and TurboIntegrator (TI) processes.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into effective TM1 solutions.
  • Support Finance’s budgeting, forecasting, planning and management reporting processes through automation and system improvements.
  • Provide technical support and resolve complex TM1 user queries.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated TM1 data loads, working closely with IT Operations to resolve issues.
  • Support testing activities for upstream system changes and implementations affecting TM1.
  • Maintain TM1 security and user access through joiner, mover and leaver processes.
  • Produce and maintain clear technical and user documentation.
  • Deliver training and knowledge sharing sessions to end users and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the ongoing optimisation and scalability of the TM1 environment.

About the Team

IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) is a critical enterprise application supporting management reporting, planning and financial analysis across Europe. It provides trusted financial data for senior management, Finance and business stakeholders.

The platform is undergoing significant transformation, including the implementation of new cubes, improved alignment with Group reporting standards and the expansion of TM1 capabilities across the organisation. This role will play an important part in delivering these initiatives while ensuring data remains accurate, reliable and accessible.

About You

You’ll be a proactive and collaborative systems professional with a passion for financial systems and continuous improvement. You’ll be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and enjoy delivering practical solutions to complex business challenges.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) in a development or support capacity.
  • Strong understanding of TM1 architecture, cubes, dimensions, rules and TurboIntegrator (TI) processes.
  • Experience supporting finance planning, forecasting and management reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot system issues and provide high-quality user support.
  • Strong documentation and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within financial services.
  • Knowledge of financial planning and reporting processes.
  • Understanding of data governance principles.
  • Experience supporting system upgrades, testing and change management.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Excel and reporting tools would be advantageous.
